Dear Friends at Epiphany,

The story is told about the time Pastor Clifford sent his parents a microwave oven one Christmas. Here’s how he recalls the experience: “They were excited that now they, too, could be a part of the instant generation. When Dad unpacked the microwave and plugged it in, literally within seconds, the microwave transformed two smiles into frown! Even after reading the directions, they couldn’t make it work. “Two days later, my mother was playing bridge with a friend and confessed her inability to get that microwave oven even to boil water. ‘To get this darn thing to work,’ she exclaimed, ‘I really don’t need better directions; I just needed my son to come along with the gift!'”

When God gave the gift of abundant life, God didn’t send a booklet of complicated instructions for us to figure out; he sent his Son.

If we think about it, we realize that this little story explains what The Church of the Epiphany is all about; why this beautiful holy place exists, built by former generations.  The little story explains why so many people are always giving their best for this beautiful church.  It explains why we have a church family.  In short, we are here following our Lord.  He shows us how to live a good life.  How to make the world a better place.  He shows us how to love others, how to listen to others which is often all we need to find our way in our journey on earth.  In short, we are here where the son shows us how to life the best life.

We invite you to come out and find your way with us.  Come find the peace that comes from God and passes all understanding.  We invite you to come and find help, hope, and home at Epiphany.

We also ask you to mark your own calendar with the “upcoming events” enclosed in this letter. Your participation in events at Epiphany is so important and appreciated.

As always, if you would like a visit with the ministers, please do not hesitate to ask. We are delighted to meet with you, to share a cup of coffee or tea, to talk and listen.

We hope to see you soon.

Yours in Christ,
